Spark Plug Change Cost

Spark Plug Change Cost

Postby SolaraLance » Mon Sep 13, 2004 1:03 pm

Anybody know how much a dealer would charge me to change plugs and wires? Just a high school kid so if it's gonna be too much I'll just have my dad friend do it. Tried reading the DIY for spark plug change.. looks hard... not enough experience/training to do it myself so I'm not even gonna attempt it... not to mention I wouldn't know how to do the wires even if I coudl do the plugs.
It's mostly the car.

Depends if it is V6 or I4. Prob ~$70 for I4 and ~$115 for V6 (both not counting wires). Add about $40-60 for wires (don't remember how much they cost).

give up on V6, is not easy and not enough room... i rather pay someone to do it but wait till timing belts changed and do it all in once...

if you have the right socket wrench and the right extension, spark plug change on v6 solara is 10 minutes job for front, and 20 or 30 minutes job for back, indeed it is very pack in back, but done it myself and it wasn't too bad, just follow the DIY instruction from this site. by the way the timing belt change on v6 doesn't not need to touch any spark plugs.
