gen 1 really better than 1.5?

uhm i was checking the stats on edmunds and it shows the engine specs, and the gen 1 had more hp and torque than the 1.5....like in the 2000 model they have 200 hp and 217 torque and its a bit less for 2001 and up, till 04 of course.

You sure it wasnt the California models? Those engines are gimped slightly due to emission regulations (198hp 214tq I believe).
