Rehashing a question about automatic lights....

After a lot of looking I just got a 2002 Solara SLE Convertible.

I had driven a 01' Solara Coupe, and have found a few differences on the interior... i eventually found the glove compartment trunk release,

anyway my qiuestion is the 1st Gen Solara had a light switch with Off, Auto and On.

The new one has 4 switches.
DRL Off, DRL On, --, and Lights on.

-- seems to make the interior think the lights are on, and maybe puts on my back lights, but not my headlights.
I still have a weird dome in my car....

Does the 2002, and 2003 Solara's have an automatic lights on feature?

Thanks.

Must be 2k1 only, since I dont think my 2000 has any control of DRL at all.

Can anybody confirm?

$900? That'll teach ya to pay someone else to work on your car! I'd have done it for $800!

dang, glad I found this thread. saved me a hassle of looking for things that are not there (again), funny is gen1.5 :)

just to answer the unaswered question (from 2004! LOL!), that little black dome on dash is a Solar Sensor (Thermistor) for automatic A/C :) don't ask me why it needs it, I don't get it either, hence why I came to this thread LOL thinking it was the light sensor for automatic lights hehe :)
