Driver window squeeks

Driver window squeeks

Postby my94redcelica » Sun Feb 13, 2005 12:06 am

I did a search and didn't find what I was looking for. On my driver window, it squeeks really bad only when I roll the window down. I'm sure something probably needs oiled up or something, but what would that be. Thanks

It sounds like the lip of your outside rubber seal is getting weak, allowing the lip to fold in on the window when it is rolled down. The lip has a felt inner lining that keeps everything quiet during window operation. Check the outside lip for any cracks or distortion. Then watch the lip for movement while rolling down the window. If this is your problem, you will have to replace the lip if you want it to stop.

I checked the seals and everything was in order, no cracking, creasing, catching or folding in. Any other suggestion?

Then I have no clue :( You could lube the guides by removing the door panel, but that is a pain and probably won't cure it because the window causes noise in one direction. Something has to be rubbing for it to make that noise..... :-?
