How to remove 3rd brake light from spoiler?

Does anyone know how to remove the third brake light from the stock spoiler? (I removed the screws and tried to pry it off but I decided to stop when I heard it crack) Would it just be easier to mask around it to smoke the light or take it off the spoiler? I tried the search and came up with nothing.
