Weird feeling at High RPMs..Anyone same?

This is going to be sooo hard to explain. But when im pushing the car to every red line then shift, I get this weird feeling off the car. Yeah I know before you hit red line your car would have already reach its peak Hp and Tq WAY before that. But right when Im near red line, I feel like the engine in that netraul stage feeling. Like as if its super smooth all the sudden and feels nuetral.

Ahh gahhh let me try again. Ok its sorta like when your reaching near red line that the engine seems to want to spin so fast that the force wants to throw everything out of it (this is like after passing peak hp and tq near redline). Maybe because its not as loud as the lower rpm or something but its a weird lacking feeling off it. Like our engine at redline is too weak....Anyone gets this feeling like when they are racing or something? That or my clutch is wearing out bad at high rpm...

HAHAHA see if you can understand that...

clean your air filter/intake

=P

The "lack of power" from 5600 to redline is designed to lessen the blow of the shift to next gear (auto) and shouldn't be felt as badly on a manual trans... but you're never supposed to shift AT redline... most guys shift just under it =P

^ i think he has a manual?

i like to think of this as a human runner... where you cant run any faster, you are just cruising, but pounding the hell out of your body. thats your car.

I sorta understand that. No Im not like abusing the car and all you know. And Im not like shifting exactly at redline. Its just at that high near redline rpm's that the car just feels like its unalive and unsecure...Something like that.

our hp and torque falls off as you approach redline. these are not hondas, you dont need to zing it to 8k to get the horses - ours are on tap closer to middle rpm's.

I believe this as well. Sitting in shotgun in numerous hondas, CL-S/TL/GS-R/Civic/Civic SI/S2000/Prelude..its a totally different feeling when they're hitting the higher rpms, you feel more glued to your seat than a n/a Solara.

I understand all this and all.. But doesnt it feels weird though? Like as if its unsafe and the motor cant handle it (Not that it isnt anyway to rev up but you know what I mean) even though its not even red line yet...

to my understanding correct me if i'm wrong, as your hit redline of a the car, any car you lose power, taking a car to the limit it just breaks down for a moment for a breathe, i guess... its like the analogy with the runner.... you can run so fast to a certain point and your body starts to break down, can't hold it forever at top speed so gotta switch gears....
THE ideal spot to shift is before redline giving teh car some room to breathe but too much room.... IE automatics don't redline also my s/c cuts off at redline or something cuts off... try lucas oil man.... GOOD STUFF.... its only 10 bucks.
