It's fun to do small cheap mods to your car but I don't think this is worth the trouble, plus the gains are not noticable on a "seat of your pants" dyno. My roommate and I both did this a while back and switched it back for the winter. Unless your hands are tiny, not much room to work on the 1mz.
Just my 2 cents, some claim to have noticed better response.
