I think you other option would be to either run a higher powered alternator by Stinger or something. Or option 2, to run a 1 farad capacitor and a Deep cycle Yellow top Optima battery with earth grounds. This helped me get rid of the dimming lights when the bass note hit a low. Anyway, hope this helps you out. :D

I think a half farad cap OR the yellow top will be good enough to keep it from dimming with only a 400w sub.

I just remembered, don't forget to run the 4 gauge wire and fuse link. The 8 gauge is sufficent; however, the 4 gauge will give you more room to grow you system. :D Jon11582 has a good point. :P

Yeah a 0.5 farad cap should be more than enough.
If you have the money then all out wit yellow top battery, and stronger alternator, wit a 0.5 farad.
Also use 4 gauge for more effience power, and also to grow the system if you want to

Hey Bro,

There are two sites you might want to look into.
This site has the .5 farad capacitor:
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-hFIcGq4PTCD/cgi-bin/ProdGroup.asp?g=725&avf=N

However, The site Techronis.com is listing a 1 farad cap for less than a .5 cap listed at Crutchfield. Here you go:
http://www.techronics.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=category.display&category_ID=12&mfg_account_ID=&sort=low

Hope this helps out. Maybe the other guys have better listings??? Cause we never turn our backs on a SolaraGuy brother... Anyway good luck. 8)
