Wassup guys, I know there's probably been a number of topics on this...but I couldn't seem to find any on the search. So I thought I might ask you guys for some help. Well, I put some MBQuart Reference 6.5 component's in my front and for my b-day my friend bought me the MB Quart Ref 6x9's for my back. My question is, do I have to remove the entire back panel to change the speakers? And can you guys give me any help so I can do the install as quick and easy as possible...Thanks guys I really appreciate it :D

BTW...Supercharger goes in on Thursday..... :P

I was going to buy those but after listening, I found I liked the sound of the Boston Pro 6.5

There are no fast ways to remove the rear panels...

You need to remove the rear seats completely. You need a wrench and different sizes head. Remove the 2 handles on two side (bolts). Remove the top 2 cloth hanger thing (pull down the cover and screw off the screws). Take off the front seat belt joints on the b pillar. You will prolly need a long bar to connect the wrench cos it's REALLY tight. Start pulling out the bottom panels, then top panels then the rear panel...

It's very time consuming.

I'm not sure if the mounting pts. on the MBQ's the same as the OEM ones, but if they don't, you'll need a mounting bracket for your new rear deck ones. Otherwise, be prepared to be very creative with your OEM speakers or rear deck.

I put Eclipse 6x9s in and it was easy but it was alot of work. You have to take out the whole rear panel. top half of the back seat, interior panels. We managed to reuse the plastic adapter that hold in the JBLs. (Dremel came in REAL handy) I wish we had taken some pics, would have made a nice "How-to" story. Unfortunatly I was unable to get the ecplise grills in. It's not a big deal, but it would have been nice. If anyone figures out a clean way to change the covers, take pictures I wanna see.

You do not have to remove the rear seat backs, you can leave the bottom piece of the rear panel on just pull them back and this will give you room to remove the black seat back panel, you will have to bend it in the middle it will not hurt it (make sure that you remove the top of the rear panel first). You will still need to remove the bottom rear seat just pull up hard and it will come out. I lowered my car today and thats how I pulled every thing off. BECAREFUL!
