Brake Pedal Noise?

Brake Pedal Noise?

Postby Midias » Mon Jul 11, 2005 8:51 pm

Sometimes when I first get in my car after it sits a day or over night, my brake pedal makes a strange noise and seems soft. It also sometimes seems like the brakes are draging a little but I am not sure if it a caliper or the e-break.

go get it checked out. the breaks are the breaks, no matter if you're breaking with the e-break or the pedals. check your break fluid. how long has it been since they changed the pads? if its been a while check the pads to see if they're not wearing thin and check the rotor to see if there are any scratches on it. or go have it looked at.

Sup Bro,

I agree with so-cal_sol... The spongy ness could be that the brake fluid needs to be changed/bleed. This is caused by the moisture from condensation build up in the brake system. It could be a leak in the lines or just from age and extreme stop and go braking. The grinding/ scrapping sound could be symptoms caused be the pads being worn thin where the pads are not seating right in the liners. Shuddering of the while your braking is due to the rotors being out of balance mostly from warping/ out of circularity. I'd definitely have this checked out. Good luck Bro.

It definitly sound like there might be moisture/water in the brake fluid. :drinking:
