All gauges are not created equal.

I used to think this gave a decent reading...

Today I went out and bought one of these...

It included the gauge, a full set of valve cores, a full set of valve stem caps and a tool to remove and install the cores. Cost me less than $5 at DAP. In terms of accuracy, it is so easy to read and I trust the reading way more than the cheapo pen gauges dealerships usually give out for free.

My pen gauge was reading pressure 2 psi too low. I have been rolling around on underinflated tires for who knows how long. IMO it is fully worth the 5 bucks for crisper handling and the improvement in fuel economy.

The one I use has a digitial dial and much easier to read than those you have to squint to read the psi

it also goes down to a tenth of a psi... like 40.5

it was given by a friend... ill ask where he got it from

Yeah I was looking at the digital gauge too but it cost more than $5. Either one is superior to the pen gauge.

I bought one at sears $3.99. I check my tire pressure every couple months. I think we loose on average 1 or 2 psi a month? Not to sure on that.

I filled my 17's to 34psi. They were at 30-32 psi before.

Maybe I should consider a better gauge... I have a dial gauge that gives all sorts of weird readings while I feel that a $1 pen gauge I got is more consistent.

I got my digital guage with LED flashlight for 9 bucks shipped from here

How do you guys know the digital is more accurate than the analog/dial? My pen one sucked, thats for sure, but I also get different readings from my digital, and the dial on my air compressor. Not sure whos right....
