I have a JL Audio 12, I want to install it with my stock system. Before I take the dash apart I was wondering if anyone knows what the easiest why to install this is?

want to add an amp to power the JL, and in which case, you'll need a pair of high-low/RCA converters to hook up to the stock headunit.

since your only using it for bass, just use the speaker line inputs off the rear deck speakers, and run a power line to your battery and thats mostly it

high-low converters found at some Kragen's/PepBoys/AutoZone. They look like a box with wires on one end, and RCA plugs on the other end. The wires from the headunit need to be tapped with the converters.

That will be a bitch.

Just use the speaker level input of the amp and tap those lines into the rear 6x9s. (EASY)

Run a line to the battery from the right thru the firewall.

Done.

Again there will be no ''gain'' in using the high low converters. As long as your amplifier has the speaker level inputs, you will be fine. The only thing to keep in mind is that you MUST get the polarity of the speaker correct or you will suffer from a phase differential. To help avoid this just wire the amp up this way. Your right rear positive terminal is red, and the negative is white. Here's where everyone else gets it wrong your left rear positive terminal is Black and the negative is yellow. Just make sure you wire that up correctly and everything will be fine

Not many "decent amps" let alone subwoofer amps have high level inputs anymore, and really if they did I wouldn't want to use them. Get the line level converter and go that way, it will work good. What kind of amp you gonna run..

its usually the opposite, the better high end amp dont put speaker line inputs, either way it makes no difference what so ever on a sub amp :-?
