or so the mechanic says at the dealership....hes already charging me 300+ bucks for diagnostic......

heres what happened my car just died......no sound no noting.....when i put the key in(no turning) everthing is fine but when i turn it to start the enging will crank but not...catch.....weired think is when the key is in the start/on position my security light starts blinking....when key is not in there the light never comes on.......any idea what to do......my first day of my new job is on tuesday and its looking like im gonna have to take the buss:(:(:(:(:(:(:(

hmm. . . remove the back seat and in the middle there is a metal cap cover. . . Pry that open with a screw driver it's only like glued on or something. . . Check out the wiring in your fuel pump

Could be something with your ECU, security module (under rear cupholder) or transponder within your key, but sounds more like your ECU since it's usually supposed to blink when your key is not in and turn off when a properly-coded key is in the ignition, but stays on when an uncoded/improperly-coded key is in and would do just as you described when you try to start it (the CEL would stay on for a few cycles if you do it for too long)... I tried it with my AAA emergency key.

why would my properly coded key just go bad....while in the ignition.....

Like I said, could be the ECU... I was stuck without my car for a week for them to re-flash the ECU when my Stealership tried to program a new set of keys (and before that the security light would stay on for about 20 seconds after I insert the key). Hope you can talk them into getting you a loaner car, though.
