Head light bulb install question

i purchased my 00 solara with out owners manual and today my left front headlight went out. After purchasing a new bulb i can't seem to install it. can anyone help?? I can't seem to loosen the bulb from its harness.

Ahhh yes, the spin and pull. Be careful not to get any oil from your fingers on the bulb itself. I believe the oil causes the bulb to BLOW when hot...... Patience makes perfect.

You will have to unplug the plug near the battery.
Then pull off the rubber cover, and then un-wire the wire that holds the bulb in place.
then pull the bulb out slowly, and then place it some where safe, and then install is reverse.
Be sure not to touch the bulb it self.
It a tight fit between the battery and the the plug for it.

i can't seem to un-wire the light bulbs loose..

ah just pay $30 and have someone do it

pop the hood
locate the blk plastic wiring harness
pull it out towards the windshield
locate the blk rubber dust cover
pull it out using its handles (theres 2)
look closer inside and locate the clip
push the clip in and unhook it from its locking point
the bulb should be accessible from this point on

put in the new bulb and go back up the list

PM me if you have any further difficulties
also, removing the battery may help on the driver side, but not completely necessary if you have small hands.
I normally just remove the bracket which will loosen up how the battery is sitting

use a stubby ratcheting screwdriver to remove the retaining clip. refer to your other headlight assembly when you put the new bulb in...it's tricky to git that stupid clip back in.

thanks for the help guys.. i just installed the silverstars and i must say i am very disappointed. have anyone had the same disappointments? if not silverstars than what do you guys recommend??

yeah i dunno why ppl recommend silverstars... i dont think theyre all that

They are all that for the price, you wont notice a difference the first few minute trust me. But at night turn your fogs on (if you have them) and put your pants or some cloth to compare both lights and youll see a big difference. Oh and one piece of advice is to unplug the drls, on the passenger side next to the strut youll see a gray plug and disconnect that, otherwise your silverstars will last you a couple of months.
