Passenger seatbelt warning light

Passenger seatbelt warning light

Postby Chose » Fri Jan 20, 2006 7:24 pm

I know this isn't very important but it buggs the hell out of me. My warning light for the passenger seat belt quit working. A while back the clock was out too. Thats when this happened. The clock only worked when the door was shut, and reset every time it opened. Now the clock works fine but the belt warning is completely out. Any ideas on how I can fix it? :(

fixing this may be trickier than you think. even though it is by chance that they both had problems at the same time the seat belt warring light
is connected to a sensor underneath the passenger side seat. this is so the air bag does not go off if anyone is not sitting in it durring an acciedent. the clock and the warrning light share the same connector but, that is the only thing they have in common. if i were you i would check the connector in the back of the clock/warrning light and see if any wires are melted together. also unplug the connector and make sure that there hasent been any shorting occuring inside the connector. last but not easr i would check fuses to see if any are blown aswell as your door ajar switches to see if they are bad.

if youre referring to the passenger seat belt light that lights up next to the clock, it possibly could also be a quick fix... where the wires behind the center console for the clock and seatbelt light is loose.

what you can do is pull out your ashtray completely, start pulling the center console from the ashtray by tugging gently but firmly and work your way up. there are four clips holding the console near the radio... keep moving up and soon the whole piece will come off and youll have access to the clock wiring and so forth......

good luck
