Lets talk SE & SLE weights

Lets talk SE & SLE weights

Postby DatSRBoi » Fri Jan 27, 2006 10:12 pm

I see that the V6 SE weighs 3233 and the V6 SLE weighs 3333 lbs.... Now What really plays into the factor of weight difference between these cars. I mean SLE just has leather that makes it heavier right? Nothing else? And when I striped my car it didnt seem heavy at all. My leather seats. Also does anyone know how much difference a manuel solara would weigh over the auto for sure? Im guessing its not really off that much huh? Over 100lb?

Because 100lb difference is allot of .1 second haha. Im just trying to figure some stuff on my car.

And when it says curb weight. Is that with full tank gas or without?

I'm interested in knowing this info too b/c mine's a 4banger SE so I must be pretty light... Saves so much gas!!!! I love it :D

Hey, now you have to weigh the PERSON sitting in the car too, when I drive my family to places it's SO SLOW, it's totally noticeable, it's not like my family is all fat either; we're average and still it drags the car. (Sometime I barely make it over a bump, scraping it w/ four+ people in my car; doesn't do it anymore though because I pumped up my tires to 4.1 Psi)

SLE Gen 1 is 75lbs heavier thant he SEV6, which is about 100lbs more than the SE I4. Leather, 16" alloys, auto climate control, all standard on the SLE, and optional or N/A on the SE.

How about transmissino difference like manuel and auto? Do you know like 99.9% how much difference it is.. Maybe SC V6 would know since he did the converting.

Yeah. Im just seeing how much extra lbs the manuel SE shaved off. My SE That i have has all the SLE option other then traction control so I weigh as much as the SLE. But then again Im manuel transmission.

Slap some bucket seats on there and a carbon fiber hood, that'll take some weight off for ya, maybe some lightweight rims and that'll drop a few pounds

I also think the SLE has a sport suspension type of thing.

Suspension is most definitly the same in SE and SLE.

So moonroof, leather seats, 16" alloys, tract control, Auto Tranny, and climate control...I think Alarm too.

Rip all that out and youll shave off 75-100lbs.

They dont make any more MZ family manuals, but the 2AZ manual currently weighs 56lbs less than the auto.

Take out the spare tire, take out the headrests and take out the cig lighter and that'll shave about 231.429 pounds off, I tried and it makes me go so much faster now!

Another tip, you should also try pumping your inside with helium. Just buy one of those cans from a party store and then make sure your vents are closed off and boy, you're practically floating. I got to go 0-60 in about 291004 seconds!! Whoohoo!
