Tire size for 16" OEM Alloys

I finally found 16"OEM alloys w/tires. The wheels currently have 215/55/16 tires on them. Is this the correct size? What is the widest tire size I can fit on these wheels?

Actually, you can put 225/55/16 tires on the stock wheel, but it pinches the tire somewhat, and causes the sidewalls to bulge a little. I know people who are using that combination, and they seem to be fine with it. Personally, I don't think it looks right, and I would wonder if the tires are wearing correctly. I would agree with Flipside that you would be better off not going wider than 215.

I was using 225/55/16 and it went fine.
As cdssolara said, the sidewalls is a bit buldge.

The tires wear pretty even,
however you can see that the middle thread wear off a bit more than the side.
