Stock talk about the Generation 1 and 1.5 Toyota Solara which were produced from 1999 to 2003.

How come he has all the fun?

How come he has all the fun?

Unfair is what this is! So here's the story.... My son James asks to borrow the SuperSolara Friday night. He is 21 years old but he asks like Bart Simpson, nags you until finally you say yes. He has his own newer Tacoma 4x4 pickup but I later figured out he needed more passenger room because the rear seatbelts I saw were used. So the next day I get the story. He picks up his guy friend and while heading to his girlfriend's place they are cruising on the freeway about 65 mph when a guy in a Carrera 4 comes running up next to them reving the motor in a challenging manner. What a dork. Picking on a lowly 2 door Toyota Camry "family car"!

So naturally James decides to "uphold the pride of the SuperSolara" and as the old dude in the Porsche drops it a gear, James jams the pedal to the floor, and easily walks away from the Porsche. His buddy in the passenger seat is laughing his ass off as he sees the screwed up faces on the Porsche's driver and passenger. I'm guessing the sack-less Porsche driver like most didn't know he could have used 3rd gear, he was probably in 4th, but he hung way back on the freeway once James slowed it back to legal speeds.

Well, I guess I'm just pissed off that I never get to have that kinda fun. But who said life was fair. :(

I agree. Jims car is probably one the most modified cars on this forum.
Probably one of the most fun to drive too.

lmao...

yup, from my understanding, Jim's ride makes mine look like a bland... lifeless Solara.

I dont know the extent of the mods, but take it from me, I have done a lot of research on engine modding, alternatives to superchargers (since TRD pulled the plug on it...).

and my car is still stock... But, I did outrun a G35 copue the other day.... not by much, and after I paid attention, it wasnt even the sport model.. But still a G35 coupe... i beat him on a long straight by about 1-2 car lengths. We were coming up to a tight corner.... I have big brakes, so I can brake later....

another situation, where power doesnt beat handling. ;)

Porsche in Portland? That's almost a rarity considering I don't see much cars out of the ordinary... I went up there for the weekend and I only saw 1 Gen1 (Silver or white, lowered, tinted; just got a short glance) and 1 Gen1.5 (white, stock)! It would've been SUCH an honor if I got a chance to see the Super in action, but it was my dad driving in his PT.

Next time I get up there, I'm definitely getting a rental car. How far are you from the St. Johns area?
