Extreme steering wheel vibration at speed above 50-55 mph

I'm about to take my car back to the bodyshop to get the caster issue taken care of (left and right are 1 degree apart), but I also thought there are possibly more serious problems with my car.

Before the accident, I don't remember my steering wheel vibrate at any speed, but ever since I got it back from the shop, the vibration is visually noticble. Yea that's how much it vibrates, I'll tell you its like holding a massager in your hand when driving on the freeway.

I know the bodyshop will probably blame on the new rims and tires I installed after the accident (215/50R17), so I was jus wondering if you guys who have tire width 50 or smaller are having the same issue? The tires are properly inflated btw. I'm just trying to pin point the problem at hand.

Thanks all~!

yeah check for balancing issues and also studs and lugs. Do you wheel spacers? if so, make sure their hubcentric. That way the center bore of the rim makes contact with the hub via the hubcentric wheel spacer. If you do not have that, get some lug that fit the holes of the rims. Ifs its too small, theres play there thats noticable during high speeds. This happened to me so I got thick lugs so the play wasn't noticable as before (60mph, everything was shaking :o ) G/l

I agree with the last two posts. You will definitely feel more of the road (bumps/cracks) with rims on. But it seems like you need to get them balanced as well (maybe an alignment too).

You need huhcentric rings... With aftermartket wheels they have a bigger center hub bore.

You can find them at a local wheel shop or find them on ebay. search" hubcentric rings" and you should be able to find them.

If you already have them.. i would do the above and get the wheels rebalanced.
