Leather Seats "cracking"

Leather Seats "cracking"

I've started to use the Meguiar's Leather mosituerizer on the seats to prevent any further cracking. Is there anything I can do to remove the cracking that has already started?

I really don't think so. I think once the damage is done, it's irreversable. But the Meguiars should prevent any further damage. How old are you r seats?
I have an '01 and I keep my car in the hot Texas sun. My seats aren't cracking yet. I did use some moisturizer about 2 years ago, but I haven't used it since.

I use the leather cleaner and mosituerizer about every 6 months. This helps keep the seats pretty soft and prevent it from cracking.

But like ^^ he said. Once the cracking affect starts there is no way to stop it. You can only slow it down if you continue to maintian the leather.

You have to understand that all leather will eventually fade.. its just of matter of how long it will take depending on the care you give it.

I've had my leather seats for about 2 years now and they still look like i just put them in...

^^ what he already summerized.
I usually clean and then mositurize them (recondition them) with some alove oil (spelling??) about 3-4 times a year.

If you think your seats are really in bad shape (but not cracked) just surface scratches, then you can re-dye them. This summer (time permiting) I plan to re-dye my camry's driver and passanger front seats.

I should put up some pictures of what's left of the leather in my '63 Buick Riviera. Leather interiors always end up looking crappy.

http://www.leathermagic.com Does anyone know whether this is any good or not? My seats are starting to crack and my steering wheel is black at the 9 and 3 position and brown the rest of the way when it should be tan.
