Lovin my new 2002SE, a very welcomed addition to my life.
After driving a 95 Subaru for the last 5 years the Solara feels like flying a small plane... 8)

I've read that a front end rattle is common on the generation 1-1.5s,
and sure enough, there is one. Sounds like it's on driver's side.

Has anyone dealt with/figured out where it's coming from? I love a quiet ride and when it's so quiet you can hear everything...especially a rattle.

Thanks,

G

replace the strut mount, that should be the problem. You could also just replace the strut mount bearings, but I would just do the whole mount as well.

I would replace both mounts at the same time. Also, make sure all of the nuts are tightened well...do not finish tightening the upper nuts until you lower the car off the jack, thus allowing the strut/spring to settle into place. Then tighten up the 6 nuts through the strut bar all the way.

I had posted a website a while back that had the kyb mounts for a good price, you should be able to search and find it.
