Trust me. You don't want auto climate; sometimes it gets to be a pain in the arse. Besides, this topic has been discussed many times over, one just very recently.

Even when I'm in other cars with autoclimate, like the ES300. I'm like WTF is this? Where do I crank up the heat, etc. I'm glad I got the SE, I just can't stand automatic anything, except auto windows and sunroof :)

LOL ! !

Seriously, though. You can turn the auto climate control off. In my opinon, it's great, mostly at night though. When it's not too hot, and you want to keep the temperature level, it's works wonderfully. It's not too cold and not too hot.

It's a nice feature to have, although not necessary.

To the original poster...there is a sensor on the dash that reads temp and sunlight to make the system work. It's right next to the auto headlight sensor. Without this, the system wouldn't work. Is it possible to swap? I'm sure it is. Is it worth it? Probably not...but I like mine :D

LOL, auto climate controls can be controlled manually as well. In the afternoons's i set it myself. But like others indicated, this is great for nighttime driving. In the afternoon, my a/c goes up to full if i leave it to auto (at 72).

Yes, the screen with the temp, fan seed, etc...should light up green at night.
