Bad Motor Mount or Transmission Mount?

Bad Motor Mount or Transmission Mount?

Wzup All?

My 2002 2.4L has had a little vibration issue. When the car is in:

(P) No vibration
(R) Vibration
(N) No Vibration
(D) Vibration

The vibration is felt in the steering wheel, dash & seats. Its not a HEAVY vibration but it is noticable. It dissapears when you start moving but sitting at stop lights it vibrates. Does anyone have an idea of what it could be?

Thanks! 8)

Well... in automatics.. The automatic transmission isn't smart unlike a manual when u step on the clutch or gear into neutral.. the transmission will still be powering the drivetrain to the wheels so thats where your vibration is coming from.. Mine is very faint but nowdays.. i have a habit now of shifting into neutral when i know that i'll need to be stopping for a long time at a stop light or somwhere. Rarely using transmission braking usage.

Do a visual inspection of the dogbone mount and the front mount by the radiator, thos are the ones that go out first.

:) I totally agree... I found out the hard way when the engine mounts were gone. The engine torqued so much to the left the nose of the Supercharger punctured the AC line and grinded against the frame. In my case the engine was visibly off axis. I ended up replacing the Dog Bone and the ones mounted on the bottom. :-?

Oh well... That was the past. :P
