Weird Problem with the "Change Bulb" Light

Weird Problem with the "Change Bulb" Light

Postby slamd02ranger » Tue Aug 22, 2006 12:48 pm

About a week ago on my 99 solara the "Change Bulb" light came on in my gauge cluster. I got out, looked at all of my lights with on, tested all of the lights, and not a single one is bad. The Change Bulb light does not come on everytime I drive the car. Sometimes it won't even show up for a whole day. But it seems that every 2 - 3 days it will come on when I'm driving and I'm not sure why. I thought about replacing all of the bulbs, but wanted to get some feedback to see if this has happened to anyone else before I go spending money on a bunch of bulbs.

Did you check the brake lights? Have someone step on the brake pedal and look.

I had the same thing happen a couple of weeks ago with my 2000 SLE. The indicator came on and I bought some bulbs, thinking that I would have to replace one. However, when I actually looked at the lights, none of them were burned out. The indicator also went off. I ended up returning the bulbs and I will wait and see what happens.

had the same thing happen, disconnected the battery, and the error code went away.

I checked and tested all lights for functionality including having someone step on the brakes. I guess I'll disconnect the battery and see if that works.

Also check the front signal lights because those are two step too. They come on with the lights and they blink brighter. If all is set try the battery disconnect.
