Homelink (I think) on ebay

Homelink (I think) on ebay

Postby nkx1 » Sat Mar 08, 2003 9:03 pm

Here's the auction: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... egory=6775

Although my interior is grey, it wouldn't really work for my car. But does anyone know if that 3-button part of the assembly is all you need for the Homelink system? I'm just curious in case I see a similar item in grey.

I was thinking that maybe the 3-button thingy was just the interface, and that maybe there was a little control box or something somewhere else. I would totally try it out just to see if it worked, but its the wrong color.

i believe that the 3 button interface is built into the panel where u would have the sunglass holder. on my car i have the 3 button interface but i never took it apart too see what it looks like. maybe ill do that this weekend and let u know how everything goes and how its done. correct me if im wrong i have a 02. not the 2000.

The whole unit is all integrated with the transmitter and battery. Think of the homelink unit as a glorified expensive garage door opener with extra transmitters to turn on and off the lights in the house.

Thanks Flip, that's really all I was asking. Actually, I would like the "glorified garage door opener" because that's all I use that space for anyway. I have the panel with the button thing you push, which then pushes on the actual garage door remote (you guys/girls without the Homelink will know what I'm talking about). Basically, the Homelink would just be a little more sophisticated than what I have now.
