Discolored Bumpers

Discolored Bumpers

Postby widow's son » Sun Mar 09, 2003 8:36 pm

I have a Silver 2001 Solara that has discolored bumpers. The front and rear bumper are different shades of Silver than the body. I have noticed this on other Solaras I have seen. How can I minimize the color diiferential w/o a respray? Anyone have any suggestions?

You can't! The same paint is used all throughout your car, it's just that it shows a different shade on Polyurathane on your bumpers, than on the metal of the car's sheet metal. :-?
Yeah, I've owned 2 Solaras so.............................Image

Also because flex additive in the paint for those specific pieces causes that discoloration.

...And I thought I was the only one bothered by that discoloration. Mine isn't very obvious, the bumpers look a little darker when inside a parking lot.
