Solara shut off for no reason?

Solara shut off for no reason?

Postby rec » Fri Oct 27, 2006 10:12 pm

I was driving up a hill and i kind of pressed hard on the gas to go fast up the hill and my car just hesitated and then shut off. I pulled over to the side and tried starting it again but it would just keep trying to start. I left for a walk like 5 minutes came back started it then it just shut off on its own again so i leave again for another 15 mins come back it started and stayed on? I let it sit for a lil bit because i didnt want it to stop on the hwy and the engine was accelerating by its self the gas wire wasnt moving but some other thing was moving on the left side of the engine left back of the engine. anyone know what could of happend any ideaS? i think i might of flooded it with too much gas ? iuno tell me what you guys think :o

when i am talking about fuel problem i mean fuel delivery problem, such fuel pump or fuel injector

you say the moment you slam your door, the car dies, this give a hint it is a electrical connection problem. check your battery terminal for ccorrosion

also if you have aftermarket alarm with ignition kill, that will give the problem too.

you have short wires somewhere.

ask someone to check your relay and try to do whatever stimulation you need to do. if you keep hear clicking noise from the relay, than it means you have short wires .

why did you replace your harness? and which part of harness?

sometimes when the alarm went bad, it will continuely active the ignition kill and shut off cars randomly or when it sense vibration (happened to my old neon).
