since you said in the prev. post I was in that its a i4, you prolly dont have traction control. If you do by some weird chance, just pull the fuse in the engine bay fuse-box

Incidentally, if there is no "TRAC" button below the shifter, you actually don't have it. If you ARE trying to do a burnout, here's what works for me (Milt if you're reading, I'm warning you...)

1. Take a nice sleep before you attempt this; any less and you'll brain-fart through steps 2 and 3.
2. Engage e-brake FULLY (and I mean fully... Forgot to do that the first try)
3. Turn your steering wheel 90 degrees to the side to induce a loss of traction.
4. Step down on the foot brake with your left foot, then lightly take RPMs up to about 1500 with your right (if you want to risk ruining your transmission, take it higher)
5. Quickly release your foot brake and mash down on the gas pedal at the same time... Follow it exactly, you'll get a nice set of clouds. Slip up like I did, you'll look like an arse leaving a car meet.

ok i guess ill give it a whirl but why is there such a loss off power startig a 0mph if i step down on the petal, it feels like there is absolutley no pick up, but wen im already rolling at a descent speed and mash down on it theres a nice push??? ( i think im semi-retarted with mechanics but im trying to learn)

No power/torque combined with an auto tranny = nothing

No trac unless you have a sle v6 as far as I know. I am guessing you just have an auto I4 and that is your big problem. BTW NEVER rev in neutral and drop in drive for a burnout.

The only thing the 4 banger Solara engine is good for is saving gas. You can spend thousands on it and it still might not outrun a stock Corvette.

while stock 4 bangers in a luxo-barge like the Solara are not likely to produce awesome acceleration, there is Solara Guy with a turbo 4 running ~250 to the wheels, isn't there?

I have no Trac on my SLEv6 and I don;t get much of a chirp when I floor it, unless it is cold as he|| or wet out. Not that I want to wear out my tires any fastr than they do already...

Your car dont have trac. Your not loosing traction because your car doesnt have enough power to even try. Sorry thats the truth.
