This is really a question to you guys that work at dealerships....i traded my sc'ed solara in on a t100 a few months ago because i needed a truck and they gave me a great deal! now i want to get the solara back (not getting rid of the t100). how do i go about finding out where the car might have gone...i talk to the salesman about a month after i did the trade in and he said that they were going to run it through the auction to see what it might bring, well a few days later, it was gone and i haven't seen it anymore.....i am really serious about getting it back! do any of you think that the dealer will give me any info???? PLEASE help, my wife gave me the okay to buy it back as my valentines day gift! willing to go to all lenghts!!!!

could be tough depending on the dealership. at mossy toyota in san diego we used several channels to get rid of trade ins that we werent going to resell. the process usually took a few weeks though. even cars that were going to auction didnt actually get there til a month or two after they were traded. i just have experience from mossy, it may be different at another dealership. i would assume that they can find it, it may just come down to the willingness of the inventory and used car managers. hope this helped...

Make your best attempt. but the reality is that you may not like what you learn. Expect the worse, and if something clicks..someone was watching over your shoulder!

if i were you i would probably start looking on autotrader and other sites... chances are it wasnt a dealership that baught it but it was probably one of those little wholesale dealers or gas stations, i would probably do a search within around 200 miles and see what pops up, just put your year, color, trans, and mileage in and see what happens.. good luck gettin your car back..

Carfax will let you know where the car is. Unfortunately that's all, you won't be able to toss a VIN at the DOT and get a plate # and location. Unless you know someone. I knew a guy who did ropes who could get me any info about a car if I had the plate #.
