Go to the dealer with the VIN and ask them to make another key.

if you lost the key and it was stolen with the key. The insurance company might not pay, but WHY would you tell them thats the reason? thats the only way they'd figure it out.

Its always nice to find something that you think is completely lost, that also reminds me i dont have a transponder key copy

When you buy a Solara, new, they give you two keys. If you bought your Solara used, and they only gave you one key, somebody already has a key to your car. Just something to think about.

^^ Actually, if buying new, the dealership gives :
1. Two Master Key's
2. One Valet Key
3. One credit card key (its a plastic key - that open the door incase you lock yourself out).

Hence, you get more than two keys when you buy the car new. If the dealership fails to give you these many keys, then someone out there has your key...(FYI: the dealership gave us an uncut camry key when we bought the camry...but then we brought it to their attention..and they used our vin to de-code the key and cut it spec's).

You're right. I stand corrected. It was well over 5 years ago when the dealer handed me all them keys. I forgot.

Come to think of it, I can't remember where I placed two of them or the code tag.
I better start looking for them.

Please excuse my ignorance but why do you have to move?

Why did they shoot at it so many times and with such malicious deliberacy?

(Perhaps THAT is what SPF0's question was also alluding to?)
