A/T Stock Dyno??

A/T Stock Dyno??

Postby 99V6solaraSE » Fri Jan 19, 2007 7:46 am

Can anybody confirm that this is most likely stock dyno for v6 solara? I got these from the Cp-e site
I was told that it was probably for automatic tranny. But i read elsewhere from old posts i searched that we should probably be getting 155 Whp
Im just shocked as to how low these numbers are. 133 WHP ? from a 200 HP v6...

I ended at the same conclusion as you (99V6solaraSE
) some months ago....but I didn't care too much because I'm Gen 2 and it tells the truth or so...Gen 2 stock on CP-e dyno is 180whp...I'm 185whp (stock). Every dyno may gives different result even same trade same model...depending on sea level location and so on...for Gen 2 with the slusshy tranny you can calculate 80% of the engine hp 0.8*225 = 180...but so .8*200=160. 160 whp would be more reasonnable for 1MZ-FE...but they were right on their dyno graph with th e 3MZ-FE so it probably is good with the 1MZ-FE. But it seems to be the 2AZ-FE around 160hp *.8 = around 130 whp...anyway the best way to know is to do like me and go make some runs at a Dyno shop.

I think you allready asked this question in the CPE thread
http://www.solaraguy.org/viewtopic.php? ... c&start=75

Sorry man but 133 is probably right because a stock manual will dyno at around 150-160 and that old 4 speed auto sucks a lot of power away from the ground.

200 crank not wheel
that 133 is after drive train losses and trust me those can be big epically in an auto.

aww crap. that sucks :(
I feel sad lol..
so im guessin that in the car books like car and driver when it says the hp it produces it's all at the crank huh?

oh well, i still view my car as decently fast.. not sports car or anything but at least decent.

if you look further on their site they have two Mazda6 dynos. One's a 4cyl manual and the other a 6cyl auto. The auto 6 only has a few more hp.

133? should be a bit higher than that....should be closer to 140-145 still....and then around 150ft lbs of torque

a stock 5 spd would put down closer to 175 or so and about 180ft/lbs of torque

I think they put down the 133whp and 145ft/lbs so that they could make it seem like the CPE makes more power than it actually does

ALL cars have this disparity.

American cars are even worse.

haha, all this talk about how many horsepower we have and such. Now I don't have the exact quote from the movie F&F3: Tokyo Drift, but it goes something like this:

Rich white kid = "my car has 500 horsepower, 500 lb-ft torque and can do 0 to 60 in 3.8 seconds!"

white kid with muscle car = "oh wow! you can read the brochure!"

yeah, anyways, it's not about the power, it's bout what you can do with it (i.e. the driver) if you're having an argument with someone bout whose car is faster (and you guys have somewhat similar power) and you're just comparing numbers, take it to the street (or track) and just find out who is faster...

i agree. i think a car that you own is capable of anything, whatever you make of it.

175 is too high. 155-160 is a stock 5 speed number and a stock auto should be 140whp ish I think.
