Control arms and Bushings

I just replaced both rear strut mounts and brand new struts. The rear suspension is still knocking. After tearing my complete back out again, the top screws are pleanty tight. The mechanic says that the control arms are making the metal on metal knocking. He says they are not loose, but the bushings are worn. I found a set (all of poly rear control arm bushings for $30, and a set of poly sway bar busings for $7.

Has anyone ever had this problem and would replacing these bushing stop the knocking?

Its probably either the rear sway bar bushings or links.

Nope.. I had my Control Arm bushings and Sway bar bushing replace to poly.. made a big diff compared to stock...

The bushings should be by energy suspension...

Yeah i agree.
Make sure the Rear Sway Bar end links are still in good condition, you can tell if the rubber still a whole piece, now if it's ripped in some sort of way, then you need new one.
And wit the Rear Control Arm bushin', they help wit better handlin', but the ride in the back gets pretty harsh.
When i hit a small bump in the road, or when i'm drivin' across the creek bridge it hits hard, so you have to go slow in some places.

But will it help get rid of the metal to metal "knocking" sound that I though was the rear strut mounts?

I had mine sway bar bushings replaced and it stoped the problem
