lights dim

so today as I was getting ready to leave the library, I noticed my headlights would dim a little bit when I pushed very lightly on the gas. This is while my car was parked.. I didn't have much of my electronics on (radio, leds, etc).. All that was on, were the headlights (obviously), instrument panel lights, plug-in navigation and radar detector..so I was just wondering. Note, the headlights didn't dim significantly, just a little bit. is this normal? let me know .. thanks.

its VERY normal for our cars to do so. ive heard older guys with ground wire kits and whatnot still having the same trouble. its a genetic default of almost all toyotas.

so you dont think it's like some sort of significant power that's being drawn from the car right?

No - we only have an 85(?) amp alternator which is barely large enough to power the stock accessories in the car. Additionally, depending on the engine's RPM, the alternator will produce less power.

...I moved this to gen1 general, not sure what section you wanted this in.
