Jack Point

Hey guys, I jacked up my 99 SE V6 with a hydraulic floor jack to get my summer wheels on. The only thing is, after I was done, I noticed that my floor jack had bent the sheet metal around the jack points (near the wheels). I've got a couple of questions if anyone here is a pro:

1) Where are the proper spots to jack the car when using a hydraulic floor jack (both front and back please)?

2) Are there any effects of this bending other than esthetics?

3) A bit of the black paint around those jackpoints peeled off as a result of the bending, could that be an issue for rust? Should I touch them up? Do cars normally rust at those places without spreading to the body panels?

As you can see, I'm a real perfectionist; just wanna make sure I didn't damage her. Thanks guys!

From the rear you can jack the car up from the rear differential. Its the big round ball to the left of the exhaust piping. From the front there are cross members where the front supports meet. It is about one foot in from the wheels.

The jack points that you used were for the scissors jack and they tend to bend a little. Even my jack stands make them bend, i wouldn't worry about it too much, just try not to mutilate them or else you might have trouble if you ever need to use the scissors jack

That's not a differential... There's a ball point that sticks out... right in front of the fuel tank.

The front... there's a ballpoint thing that sticks out too.

Just place the jack on one side of the frame, in the middle of the fram, jack it up and then put jack stands close to both tires and let the fram rest on those stands, switch those 2 tires, go to the other side and then do the same thing, just rotated my tires the other day and everything worked fine

Thanks for all the tips guys, I appreciate it. For now, I guess my main concern is not how to jack it up, but how to make sure that NO rust breaks out. This thing is my BABY (correction, I'm 17, my dad's baby) and I keep it in impeccable shape. If I were to see a spot of rust I would need serious doses of prozac. The reason why I am concerned is that this is the same sheet metal as the rocker panels, and I wouldn't want it to spread to them. I touched it up, but that's probably not perfect. Do you think I have reason to be concerned? Any tips on what to do?

Another thing, what do y'all think about Asphalt Rocker Panel guard spray? You can buy it around here in an aerosol can...just like the stuff they use at the undercoating places. The car is undercoated, but they never do the bottom of the rocker panels (i.e. the location I'm having my trouble with). Do you think it's a good idea? Thanks!

If the car has been dry since the damage (and I assume that it is really clean if you are as particular as you say), get some primer and black spray paint and touch it up! Otherwise clean it, dry it, sand any surface rust and prime and paint it.
My car had some slight scratches on the "frame" from transportation to the dealership (or damage from the dealership during prep) and I primed and painted them and they are fine.
