Ragtop adjustment?

Ragtop adjustment?

2001 Solara SLE-V6

Is there a tension adjustment for the convertible top? When lowering
the top, the back window wants to separate from the fabric. I have
studied the top-replacement tutorial, but didn't spot the answer. TIA!

The back window isn't actually attached to the fabric (outer top)

See here - that's what it looked like when I pulled back the top on my car. The outer top is only connected to the inner one via staples on the rear support frame and the tension cables only serve to keep the outer top taut when the top's up.

Could you please describe "want to separate from the fabric" more clearly? Do you mean the fabric is trying to tear away from the rear support frame?

Thanks, gangis.......the glass window rips away from the INNER fabric; when
the top is almost down, it seems to want to tear the glass away instead of
folding the window into the boot as it should. I have glued the window
back onto the inner fabric with some terrific PLIOBOND, but am hesitant
to lower the top again until i figure it out!

When you put the top back up, does the front (I call it the cowl, but I'm not sure if it's the right term for it) fall into the top of the windshield cleanly, or do you have to pull it down to make it fit?
