Why the hell did you choose a Solara to 'tune' ? No offense... but arent other cars, like Mustangs, Camaros, and even Civics easier to get parts for? (although a stock Solara is MUCH faster than a stock Civic)

This is my mom's screen name, so dont put me on the death list or anything.

well I bought a solara because unlike a mustang or camaro, a toyoata is a very good car, I have had 3 toyotas and they have never had any issues when they were left stock. A civic is just a pile of crap I don't even like to ride in them. As far as tuning I just made a great car better. The supercharger intake exhaust and SAFC in my car make it faster than any any stock mustang or camaro and my car is an auto. And unlike american cars toyotas will run forever with very little work and solaras look a hell of a lot better than any of the cars you mentioned. why dont you ask your mom to let you drive her car and maybe you will get it.

Civics = small, slow, and WAY too common!
Mustangs and Camaros don't make the perfect daily driver... they won't last as long as a Toyota and definately waste a lot more gas...
Solaras are, sort of, unique... you don't see as many of them on the road as you do the other 3 mentioned cars. Plus it makes a good daily driver! So you can have a fun car and a semi tuned car! The Civic is a horrid daily driver since you have to rev pretty high to move anywhere... lol

Have you ever seen the cheap arse trim in one of those cars?!? Really, I choose my Solara for the quality feel it has. Tuning is simply a hobby. Personally, I think that it is cheaper to make a Solara go faster than it is to make a Civic feel nice. On the Mustangs and Camaros, I just won't but a product made by an "American" car company, as they have a recent history of producing shoddy quality cars. Also, I have spent my whole life in Toyotas, why the heck would I want to break tradition :).

Parents Cars:

1978 Celica - I was born in '78
1984 Camry (Dead @ 230,000miles)
1993 Camry (Traded @ 230,000miles)
2000 Camry (Currently @ 140,000miles)

My Cars

1989 Celica GT-S (Traded @ 160,000miles)
2000 Solara (Currently @ 90,000miles)

So with me it is largly for the sake of tradition. Oh yeah that other reason: They run forever :)!!!

For me, the answer is real simple: because the Solara is one of only two convertibles on the market with a back seat you can use. The other one is the Chrysler Sebring, and we all know how bad Chryslers are....

I like the Solara because you don't see one every third car like you do with Accords and Camrys. Besides.... I like having only two doors.

thank you for calling daimler chrysler roadside assistance.......

See, you can't compare a solara w/ a civic...you just can't. I don't know why, but you can't.

And why can people only mod "race" cars? Well, unless it's a kia sephia...or you're spending more on mods than the car is worth...who cares what you mod..unless it's just an ugly car to begin w/..or it's a grannie-mobile...or your body kit consists of wood on an 82shitbox...well, so there are a few exceptions...well a lot

How could you resist the Toyota Solara?!

One day, early in March I walked onto a car lot 'just looking' and I came away with my 02 Lunar Mist Solara.

The car has great safety features, design, durability, reliability. I think it's a stylish 'luxury' car. Great for anybody who likes to have fun driving.

Solara is unique and has great quality. If you ever drive one those muscle car, you will realize "It is FAST, so what?" Those cheap plastic interior will make you wonder if you are driving a kia Rio.

When i buying my car, i only had $19000 budget in hand. i was going to buy a Civic Si or accord lx, but i rather want to go for doing something that NOT SO COMMON, so i picked up my solara.

Additionly i think alot solara owner experienced this part:
Once your friend/family rode on your solara, they will recommend people they knew or self to buy one too.

That's so ture. My dad convince 2 of his friends to buy a Solara and they both love it! One of them bought a convertible one with the same color as my car (before i get a new paint job of course)
