Tar remover, and don't let it dry. If you do, you'll have to take rubbing compound to it and re-polish/wax that area.

Tree sap and bird droppings are extremely difficult to get off if not washed right away. My 1 month old Solara already has a spot where bird droppings have eaten through the gloss. I took my car to Ziebart and had the Diamond Gloss applied. It lasts for 2 years and now bird droppings and sap wash right off without staining. Plus now my car is extremely shiny and always looks clean, even for a black car.

yeah, bird $hit hurts the paint! >o< , does anyone here live in Davis, CA? If yes, you should know what i'm talking about, i've seen one red honda turned into white which parked under the tree.

maybe some goo gone? that stuff works miracles, but i've never really used it on tree sap or paint. i normally use it for getting the extra adhesive left on the windshield from registration/inspection stickers, etc. might be worth a try in some inconspicuous spot.

don't they make specific stuff for sap removal? I think I saw it before at the auto store, but never picked some up...(I should probably do that now, my poor car)

I have always used kerosene..... yes I still have my eyebrows and my armhair. No, I don't need a safety lecture.

isnt kerosene similar to paint thinner and can damage ur paint?

Rain X, is the best stuff to use to remove SAP. It is gentle on clear coated surfaces and works the strongest. I thought it was stupid at first but then I tried it.
