1.5 Front End

1.5 Front End

Postby Skew » Tue Mar 02, 2010 7:23 am

I know a few guys here have dont the Gen 1.5 front end conversion, I did some searching and I couldnt come up with much. I'm VERY interested in doing this come pring-summer time, and i have some questions.

Obviously I need the bumper, paint matched, the headligh housings, etc.

What else do I need, and what do you guys imagine the price will be?

Thanks for any help.

Matt.

P.S. I know the bumper itself isnt that pricey, I'm just looking for opinions on what I should be looking for as far as lights, etc.

maybe there is someone here who wants to swap for your front end? unless its ruined. reason i say this is because i know some prefer the gen 1 front instead of Gen 1.5...IMO i like gen 1 better

Just a heads up, my conversion cost more than the TRD kit after paint. Here's everything you need.
-Bumper
-Bumper brackets (2 sets)
-Fender Liners
-Headlights
-Headlight wire harness
-Corner lights
-Fog lights
-Fog light extension harness
-Grill

The bumper brackets are the part nobody ever talks about when referring to the conversion. There are smaller brackets that bolt to the frame, and longer ones that run under the headlights. The gen. 1 brackets are shorter than the 1.5s.

Do yourself a favor and order a custom wiring harness from an HID forum. You don't want to over run your system since the 1.5 headlights use a dual bulb setup instead of a single dual-filament bulb. Also, the stock harness for the fogs is too short for the 1.5 fogs. You could splice in some wire, but I had a PnP extension harness made.
