Blinking passenger airbag light on dash of 2002 solara

Hey Guys. The passenger airbag light on my 2002 solara is blinking. I had a mechanic friend pull the code for this (cant remember the code as it was a while ago) and he told me that it was an airbag sensor/connection in the passenger seat. I've notice that when the seat is reclined and/or moved to a certain position, the blinking stops. Anybody have any experience fixing this by themselves? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Check the yellow plug under the seat. Just make sure it's tight.
Trust me, I'm a technician.

mine does the same thing -- starts blinking most times the passenger seat is moved. i have to reach under there and mash the connection back together, and it's ok 'til next time.

i've seen this topic before, so it seems to be a "solara thing." what i'd like to know is this, though -- when it's not making the connection and the light is blinking, does that mean that i'm not going to have airbags if i'm in a wreck? that's what i worry about. otherwise i could deal with watching that little guy with the airbag in his face blink on my dashboard.

^^ lol i had a ford explorer with a blinking airbag light (turned out to be connection under seat as well) but i was never too concerned about the airbag not deploying, there was a time before airbags lol, my concern was i didnt know if the dam thing may randomly blow out in my face while driving. obviously this never happened and i got it fixed but its a scary thought.
