Year: 1999
Miles: 145,000
Mechanical Condition: Currently have p0135 o2 Sensor B1S1 code, and leaking power steering fluid from the pressure hose =\ Other then this, car runs fantastic!
Aesthetic Condition: Aside from some small spots on the chrome trim of the grille, and a couple spots in hood, car is in great shape for 13+ years!
Money spent fixing the essentials (mods/maintenance excluded): o2 Sensor for B1S1 OEM $82.60, Power Steering - Pressure Hose Assembly $130
Major Problems Experienced: Only major problem would be the Power Steering leak. o2 Sensor issue is rather common at this point, mileage wise.
*****
Money spent on all other: Denso Iridium Spark Plugs $80, NGK Blue Plug Wires $90, 12 Qts Mobil1 Fully Synthetic Transmission Fluid $100, Transmission Fluid Flush (labor) $60, Toyo Eclipse Tires (new) $549, HID 6000k Headlights $50 (shipped), HID 3000k Foglights $45 (shipped), Custom Tint on Taillights and Foglights (lifetime warranty included) $50.

I have to edit mine.... =(
Was rear ended by a crazy uninsured woman. Now I have a small dimple crack the size of a penny, as well as a few scuffs, on my rear bumper. Sad day. Not happy at all. $200 deductible to have damage fixed completely. Second option was to have a check paid to me for the damage MINUS the deductible which was a a nice check, but because I have a lien on the car (financed) I cannot cash the check, I can only post it as a direct payment towards the principal owed. This week sucks. End Rant lol :drinking: :bad-words: :drinking: :bad-words:

Year: 2002
Miles: 132.000
Mechanical Condition: Need new brake pads and rotors, burning/leaking oil about 1 quart every 3k, other than that all good under the hood

Aesthetic Condition: Brother thought he'd be nice and help the parents shovel out of a snow storm a few years ago. Hit the car with the shovel twice somehow, so there are nice scratches on the back quarter panel and the front fender. One nick on the passenger door, size of a pencil eraser. Paint is starting to fade clear coat wise. Hate that. Overall the car looks fantastic from far, but not as great up close. Like a lot of women.

Money spent fixing the essentials (mods/maintenance excluded):Flex pipe replaced $175ish, bought an HID kit for $60 and was the best investment I've ever gotten for a car. I doubt I can ever have a car without HIDs now.

Major Problems Experienced: None, knock on wood
.
Money spent on all other: 6000k HID kit $55 shipped, LED reverse, license plate, trunk, and interior lighting $20 all together, probably. Plasti Dipped emblems and grill $10 or so.

Just trying to keep the car running strong. Its my only car and I can't afford to get a new one or have a payment so routine maintenance and stuff is crucial for me.

Year: 2002
Miles: ~180k
Mechanical condition: Nearly Excellent. Some suspension work might be needed due to a spring squeaking. Auto Trans upshifts hard once in a while. Kick during downshift to first can be felt at times as well when slowing down.
Aesthetic condition: Good. Hazed clear coat on the front bumper and some small/light scratches here and there from the previous owner.
Money spent fixing the essential(mods/maintenance excluded): Maintenance - might be around 2-3k over the period of 2 years. Mods - 3k (Audio system + wheels).
Major problems experienced: None so far (knock on wood lol)

Aesthetic condition:Needs a new paint job and a interior trim piece, but other than that its good to go.
Money spent fixing the essential(mods/maintenance excluded): None yet, just got the car three week ago
Major problems experienced:None, except that for all the ladies that hound me because of how clean my ride is......not really.

Postby zeiset777 » Thu Mar 14, 2013 5:19 pm

Year: 2001
Miles: 220,000
Mechanical condition: Runs and drives like a top. It's going to need a rack and pinion and a oil pan gasket, and breaks here pretty soon. On rare occasions it hasn't been starting. Garage looked everything including the fuel pump and they can't find anything. I'm thinking something is wrong with the chip in the key.
Aesthetic condition: I need a new front bumper with all the little dents nicks and holes on it. Along with some paint chips, and ugly ripped up wheels, it's doesn't look to bad. It's always been waxed once a year.
Money spent fixing the essential(mods/maintenance excluded): I've had the car for 5+ years and have it serviced when ever I feel necessary. I would say 2k plus.
Major problems experienced: Timing Belt and Clutch replacement are the only two so far.

Extras: It's about time to sell this thing and upgrade to a newer Solara with less miles.

Year: 2001
Miles: 226,000
Mechanical condition: Drives solidly. I believe its still running on the original transmission. Shifts smooth and no hard shifts when going F&F. Still pulls hard on WOT and eats ricers alive. No major oil leaks. Gas mileage is decent and great for someone who likes to go fast.
Aesthetic condition: Minor dent on the passenger rear fender from previous owner, need to repair rear bumper from some decent areas of scratches received when parked at work but no one has ever admitted to it. Some paint chips here and there but barely noticeable after buying some touch up paint. Has been babied since I bought it about 2 years ago which means washed once a week if possible (worked at a carwash and got free washes), has been waxed at least once a month or so, recently clay barred the car about 6 months ago. Restored my headlights, always vacuumed and cleaned the interior glass whenever washed, paint is a lot better than most 12 year old cars Ive seen in my area. Stock wheels don't have any rash. Interior has minor blemishes in carpet and leather seats have no tears. Steering wheel probably needs to be replaced soon due to leather color wearing off. IMO, I have an OCD for detailing vehicles so this car is in my eyes immaculate 90% of the time.
Money spent fixing the essential(mods/maintenance excluded): Usual oil changes($20-40), head gasket replaced ($80), TB Cleaner ($6-10), Brake Pads and Rotors for front ($130), HIDS for fogs and heads ($85), K&N Drop in Filter ($45), Magnaflow muffler and resonator delete (P&L $200), Window and tail tint ($140), Plastdip grill and wheels and etc. ($60), H/U and XM radio unit install ($250).
Major problems experienced: Misfiring in the Winter due to Coil Pack and Spark Plugs

Extras: DD for college until either switch into a hatchback or wait till graduation and get something RWD mainly the BR-Z
