Ok, so everyone has basically convinced me not to get the navigation unit in my new solara... however I still would like to put in an aftermarket stereo.

Look at the faceplate that surrounds the navigation unit. Now it looks like the typical toyota DD opening, which is found in most of their cars.

I REALLY REALLY hope that whoever designs the aftermarket kits comes up with something slick. I black plastic panel, with a single din unit will look terrible. Hopefully it is a rich silver, and blends with the matierial well. I certainly would not mind shelling out some extra money for a quality product. I do not think that "painting" the kit would turn out too well.

I have emailed a few kit manufactures... but no one has replied. Anyone else have any ideas???

Thanks!
