i chucked the stock ones for TRD ones... they didnt last long at all, then went for EBC green, had a good expir with them, and now on EBC red which i hate.

i never heard of OE brake pads lasting that long. have you seen how much you have left in person? or just told how much you have left?

My OEM lasted 32K.

Btw, Happy_Aggies, I got the Axxis pads installed and love every second of it. Thanks again for helping a fellow Solara guy out.
I didn't have to do anything with my rotors at all, they were perfect. To hell with the dealer's quote of $275.

well at 45 K the dealer told me i had 8 mm left and then at 60k the dealer told me i had 10mm left!!! LOL

i guess the dealer messed up the first reading. in any case, i dont have the perfect mm reading now, but should be close to 8mm or so.

as i said i have 70K, i drive my car atleast 60 miles everyday, most of it on freeway but dont use brakes too much. everytime i ride with some one i get really pissed with the excessive use of brakes. even when i am on the freeway, i see a car in front of me constantly applying brakes, accelerating, then applying brakes while i am quitely crusing at 75MPH. i havent really understood why ppl do that!

dont get me wrong, i am not a granddad when it comes to driving, i still get to most places faster than most of the ppl, i think i am just against too much braking and anticipate the situation early enuf to get my foot off the gas pedal so as not to use the brakes! .. ok enuf of self praise for now! :D i guess you guys get the point.

so, yeah, 8mm seems good enuf?
sko!

i'm still on my OEM pads and im at 34K right now. When i last had my oil changed at 32K. they said i still had over 40% of my pads left.

i think they can prolong the 60K mark. it also depends on how you drive and how hard you use your brakes.

Sorry i just thought that was a invalid question because everyone driving in different style. accord to toyota service manual it said least 1.0mm pad in the front.

My solara has 60k miles and the pad still looks like new. my previous 95 neon the pad replaced at 110000 miles.

on average, most toyota owners (in my area) will end up needing brakes at ~40K.
however, i've seen 70+

On my camry, the OEM were great till 60K miles...on my solara..the OEM are going great (30K miles)...if i remember correctly, i changed them on my ES...at 72K miles....dat too with a lot of freeway driving.....So take all that into account. Its been 30K miles on ES since last pads..and already i need new ones..

Edit: I don't have a discount tire that does alignments here...so for me my only option for ilfetime warranty is firestone....I've liked their service...but i think others had a bad time there...
