Back to life!

Back to life!

Postby mazen222 » Sun Sep 04, 2011 5:56 pm

I would first like to apologize to the members of this community and any Solara owner for having driven my car like this for almost 1 year

This is the headlight up close:

So finally I decided to stop shaming Solaras and myself lol and went with a full revamp!
Full tune up to the guts:
Timing belt, water pump, all belts, syn oil change, raditor flush, spark plugs and wires, 55w 6000k HIDs for the headlights and 35w for the fogs plus an engine bay clean up.

I used those 3M kits with the multiple sanding disk to clear up the headlights with amazing results:

And finally, new hood, new bumper, new grill and clear corners for a final result of: (i put both pictures next to each others on purpose lol)

The car drives like a beast! (Stick V6)
I certainly would've loved to get a trd skirt, drop it with mags and perhaps a supercharger? But those will have to wait.

Anyways, just a little update on my baby ;)

2000 SLE

My headlights ended up getting very dim and I used Blue Magic 725 Headlight Lens Restorer to help remove the foggy lenses. They were not as cloudy as the ones shown in mazen222's photos, so I did not need to use sandpaper. I also replaced the headlight bulbs themselves since they were the originals from 2000. The lights are much better now and they actually light up the road (not just acting like dim lights or bike reflectors)!
