99 solara se v6 manual with no reverse lights

noticed that my reverse lights no longer are coming on when i shift into reverse. checked everything on the electrical side of things and that looks good. i have power to the red/ blue wire @ the transmission and nothing on the red /blk reverse wire @ the transmission. i can jump across these 2 wires and then the reverse lights come on. wondering if there is an adjustment for the manual transmission cable or possibily the switch is bad. hoping someone else has had this issue and knows the fix. thanks.

replace the back up light switch on top of the transmission. I can't remember what size socket you need

I had the same problem it was the switch.

small issue with this new sensor. sometimes in 1st and 2nd gear when i'm about to shift into the next gear (top of the rpms, not shifted yet) the reverse lights will come on. seems to do it more so when the car is cold. does something need to be adjusted?

Did you use a new crush washer with the new sensor?

It uses the same crush washer that is on the transmission drain and fill plugs 90430-18008
