I searched and read but could not find...
I realize that there are many knowledgeable folks here who get a bit irritated at the same questions over and over, but I did a search for "235/45-18" and nuthin... then I read the 'wheels' thread (yes, the whole thing and it took hours) still nuthin that answered my question.
So, here it is... I do not want to lower my Solara, so I'm guessin that allows me to put bigger diameter tires on it. I have already done that once when I replaced the OEM 205/60-16s with 215/60-16s and did not incur any rubbing, but it still looks like there is LOTS of room around the tires and now I want to get new 18 inch wheels and they are tellin me that the "recommended fitment" is 225/40-18 but that diameter winds up even smaller than the OEM and WAY smaller than the 215/60-16s I have now.
I went to this great site http://www.rimsntires.com/specs.jsp?item=Wheel-Tire size comparer&sw1=215&ar1=60&bd1=16&rw1=6.0&et1=45&sw2=235&ar2=45&bd2=18&rw2=7.5&et2=38&text1=&text2=
and plugged in the info for the tire I have and the tire I want and it has a caution about width and fenders. I haven't searched for info on rolling my fenders cause I'd rather avoid that; so my question is
Has anyone ever put or heard of someone putting 235/45-18s on a non-lowered/ridin high gen1 Solara???
note: The 235/40-18s are also smaller diameter than the OEMs so I dont want 40s
