Coil Pack check engine light

Hi -

Interestingly enough, I have had this issue on my 2000 solara and on my 2000 Tundra. The issue occurs when a coil pack goes out and the check engine light comes on indicating a bad O2 sensor. On both cars I changed the coil pack and put in a new oxygen sensor. On the solara it was the sensor towards the front of the car. But, I can't get the check engine light to stay off. I have replaced the oxygen sensor twice on the solara. I made sure it was the correct one due to the code, and I didn't touch the sensor with bare hands It always comes back on with the same code. Is there a trick I am missing to get it to stay off?

thanks
