Look in the owner's manual for the EFI fuse, #8 or #9 (in the main underhood fuse bay), pull it out using some needlenose plyers while the car is off (or on, it worked when I did it). Leave it out for 5 minutes or so, then put it back it, turn car on, check engine light gone.
Generally check engine lights are crap and shouldn't be trusted, but IF you DO feel something wrong in the engine or whatnot, go check out why that light is on. If it comes back, go to Autozone or place like that for a OBD-II test, and see whats up. If it dont come back, good job, you saved an hour of your time and money having someone else do it for you.
