windshield cracked

Postby hari-bhari » Sun Nov 02, 2003 3:53 pm

I was driving over summer and got a rock chip in my windshield on the highway. It wasn't too severe so I just let it be. Cold weather is settling in over here, and yesterday the chip caused my windshield to crack about 1.5 feet in each direction. I was wondering if anyone knows of a good windshield replacement shop in the atlanta area so I can get a new one installed.

I know state farm covers windshield issues like the one you’re speaking of with no cost to you. I don't know who you have but call them up and find out.

State farm only does it for free if it's repairable. With a 3 foot crack the windshield will definately have to be replaced in which case you have to pay the deductible which could be more than the actual cost to replace the windshield.

Sorry bro. I only took mine to Toyota for body work (Accident) insurance claim. Have not lived down here long enough to venture out to a place that would specialize in windshields. My brother used these people once and has no complains thus far. www.windshield.net
They have a quote of $321.30 installed and $194.00 for do-it-yourself. But Money is not an issue so....

got a quote from meineke for 225. my deductible is 250, so looks like im paying out of pocket. does 225 sound reasonable for materials and onstallation? they even come to wherever ur car is parked and do it there.
