Electrical Problem..

Background -Recently, my cars been dying every other day if i didnt drive it countinuously (was using the optima red top) so i planned to swap out the red top for the yellow top from my Eclipse just until i got my warentee from Optima. My buddy was changing the battery for me and it started raining so he just tossed it in. He accidentally swapped the postive and negative around, only for about 30 seconds though and he realized it and switched it back. While switching it back and tightening the screws the the screwdriver touched both the postive and the negative and sparks few again... !!! I KNOW WERE DUMBB !!

Problem - After we finally finished the simplest job ever and mananged to fail miserably, the car started but nothin else in the car worked. The windows, seats, gauge lights, etc etc.. I checked all the fueses in the car and all the ones i could in the engine and nothin was popped. (I'm not sure how to check the big SOLID fuses?) i inquired with a few friends and they said that it couldnt be the ECU since the car starts but they had no clue what it could be. I can't even get the car to gear, it can only stay in PARK. Is there like a MASTER fuse that might have been blow ?? Also my air/fuel, boost gauge and headlights work, BUT NOTHIN ELSE......

I HOPE I DIDNT MESS UP SOMETHING BIGGGGG - PLEASE HELP !!!!!

Main fuse. I did that on my Accord long ago and it blew the main fuse, which was under a cover near the battery. BUT I don't see how your car started after you switched the leads... Find out where the main fuse is and start there. I hope it didn't f up your ECM. My buddy jumped his wife's Benz and the surge messed up her ECM and main wiring harness. $4500!!! He didn't switch the leads; he just jumped it off his Rover. Man, modern electronics are scary. Let us know because someone will do it again in the future. I even did it in the day. Good luck!
