Emergency alarm removal help!!!

Emergency alarm removal help!!!

My alarm just decided to stop working when I dropped my keys incl the remote. So now I've removed the brain to the alarm, however my ignition is disconnected. I'll post pics of what wires I'm dealing with tomorrow morning. I need to get it running asap.
Thanks,
Josh

Why would you have removed the brain? I would ahve left that intact. Most alarms have a disarming sequence that you can do without the remote.

yeah, usually you start the ignition and press this button usually near the bottom left side of the drivers side, on the plastic panel.

good luck

First thing, I don't know jack about my alarm system. It is an aftermarket alarm and there isn't much information on the brain either. I just know that my alarm won't go off if this is removed so I could figure out how to remove it. Had to disconnect the battery and reconnecting it didn't solve any problems.

Here's some pics:
"4" plugs into "1".

"2" seems to be the main power wires for the unit. 1 red, 1 black, 1 yellow.
"3" has 1 gray, 1 green, 1 red, and 1 white.
"4" is my next test. 2 thicker black wires, maybe 16ga.
"5" is 1 red and 1 black wire.
I'm gonna try what I know best and try to F things up, or make it work :drinking:
I'm gonna go try a couple ideas, let me know if any of you guys have any ideas (or answers) for me.
Thanks,
Josh

josh:

if you're not really experienced with this type of stuff, you may fuck some shit up. be very careful.

first off, i wouldn't have advised you to remove the brain, but since you've done so already, the only thing left for you to do is to reconnect your starter wire and ignition tap from the alarm.

your alarm has what is called "fail-safe" stater kill. meaning that if a thief even removes the brain from your alarm, or the main power source, the starter kill would still operate.

you have to nix this connection and restore your ignition wires back to normal.
1. follow your key cylinder to find the ignition harness.
2. locate the THICK Black w/ white stripe wire. (may be a solid RED wire if your car is 2000+) This is the Starter wire. it should be cut in 2 with a relay wired inline to it.
3. cut the relay out and reconnnect the starter wire back to normal.
4. take the ignition taps off. (cut and tape with electrical tape if you need to) the ignition wire is a THICK Black and Yellow stripped wire.

hope that helps.

Man, I didn't even get to finish my beer. This stuff is a whole lot easier at 12-1pm than it is at 3am! I cut and spliced #4 above because I ASSumed that the ignition wire would naturally be a thicker gauge than the sensory wires. It was a good assumption. And all the sensory wires were spliced in to other wires so that made it really obvious which ones to disconnect. So now the brain is removed and it starts as it did before. So I had to slam the last half of my beer so that it wouldn't go to waste :drinking: . I found the wires that automatically lock/unlock the doors, beep the horn. I think I might of fried the brain last night anyways just hooking it up to make it work and that's what got me home. The brain started smoking after I started the car so I quickly yanked all the wires out of it again. Don't know if there's any more alarm crap in there, but at least it works now. Had me worried for a sec.

And now that the igniton wire is spliced, I can install a button and hide it and nobody but me would be able to start the car. Think I'll be going to home depot today.
Later,
Josh
